The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
77% of registered enterprises are in services while 23% are in manufacturing. Only 3% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 47% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 40% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Banda, which ranks 58 of 75 in Uttar Pradesh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 42 out of 100. On skilling trainees who get certified at 96% and women in the labour force at 52.7%, it sits close to the national mark.
