Central Delhi trains 193.9 youth per lakh under short-term skilling programmes, behind the typical district. Of those trained, 98.5% go on to get certified, close to the typical district. The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra is a dedicated centre for this short-course, certification-linked training.
69% of registered enterprises are in services while 31% are in manufacturing. Only 26% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. 85% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 14% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Central Delhi, which ranks 8 of 11 in Delhi for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 60.5 out of 100. It runs ahead of the national picture on apprentices per lakh youth at 6,092.2.
